In Bihar, the NDA is in power with JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister, even though the BJP holds more seats in the state Assembly. Addressing speculation about adopting a similar model in Maharashtra, BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla rejected the idea, citing the party's robust organisational structure and leadership.

BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla stated that no pre-election commitment had been made to keep Shinde as Chief Minister. Instead, the decision would be based on the election results.

However, despite being the largest party with 132 seats and making Devendra Fadnavis a CM candidate, there's no agreement among alliance partners. The BJP has ruled out replicating the Bihar model, where Nitish Kumar was made CM before elections.
